Countdown to Gadget Show Live: Top 20 Gadgets

The Gadget Show Live is drawing ever closer and as always Geek Syndicate is looking forward to seeing what gadgets will be showcased at the event and what will be happening. This time Geek Syndicate looks at the first in a series of the Top 20 gadgets for 2012 as voted by the Gadget Show presenters. First up is Smart and Home Gadgets

In advance of the UK’s leading consumer electronics show, the team behind The Gadget Show Live (taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from 11 to 15 April) has revealed its Top 20 gadgets for 2012 – 20 of the best tech products visitors can see, try and buy at this year’s show. The top 20 will be featured in daily sessions within The HUB Theatre, presented by Stuff TV’s Lucy Hedges and Radio One’s Aled Haydn Jones.

The top 20 for 2012 includes the latest in gaming, home and smart technology from the biggest and best in the industry, including Apple, Sony, Samsung, LG and Canon. Other top 20 entries include the latest in personal transportation devices from Ozo, premium audio tech from 50 Cent and Bowers and Wilkins, plus camera technology from Canon.

SMART AND HOME GADGETS
Smartphones and smart TVs revolutionising our lives which made the list include the new Organic LED (OLED) 55 inch TV from LG which launched at this year’s CES to widespread acclaim, promising the richest and crispest of images never before seen on a flat-screen TV (launching in UK later this year).

Samsung’s ES8000 LED dual-core TV also made the list alongside the Samsung’s Galaxy S2 smartphone – named Mobile Phone of the Year 2011 – the company’s thinnest and lightest so far which features voice control, face recognition, dual core multi tasking as well as the 8 Megapixel built-in camera.

You can’t talk smart phones without including the latest iPhone 4s, which launched late last year and features Siri, the widely reported voice recognition service from Apple, improved processing power, dual band aerial design (to improve reception) and an improved camera (now 8MP).

One accessory supporting Sony’s new range of Xperia smartphones (Android) also makes the top 20 – the new Sony Smart Watch. This futuristic wristwatch works like a touch screen smartphone by connecting to an Android smartphone to read essential information such as texts and tweets, it also acts as a media player to stream music.
