Countdown to Thought Bubble 2010 – Day Two

So here we are on Day two and I start with an apology. I spent all that time boasting about how great the Thought Bubble Convention was and yet I forgot to mention the actual website which is http://www.thoughtbubblefestival.com. Here you can get all the info you need on the events, guests and much more.

Onwards to day two…Ho!

The Thought Bubble After Party

No this isn’t excuse to stick up a photo of myself doing my best Bond impression(ok maybe a little). These are a few shots of some of us at the awesome Thought Bubble After Party. For those of you who don’t know the After Party is held at the Alea Casino (soclose to the main convention hall it’s criminal 😀 ) which also usually pays host to some of the panels that are held during Thought Bubble.

The dress code for the Casino is smart casual so you can get away with decent jeans, shirts etc but a few folks, like myself, decide to go all out and dress up for the occasion but it’s really down to you and what you feel comfortable with.

The previous years usually have had a few evening panels (including a fairly drunken one by us) which I’m told isn’t going to be the case this year. It’s shame but I’m a big relief to the organizers trying get guests along on time for the evening panels. However all is not lost as those of you for a taste for sketching delectable dames there is Dr Sketchy’s Drawing Session which kicks off at 8pm at the Alea. You can pick up tickets (£3) for the sketching session during the day from their table at the con. I didn’t go last year (it was on last year I’m sure) but I did have a sneak peek and yep delectable dames is a pretty accurate term.

If you’re one of the first 500 who picked up a ticket for the Thought Bubble then you should be ok to get in (you can always check if you’re unsure). If you’re attending the con and staying overnight then this is definitely worth checking out.

I’ll see you there and oh you’re buying.

The Thought Bubble 24 Hour Comic Event

Now this isn’t taking place on the Saturday but I thought it’s a cool idea and worth a mention.

The events kicks off  at 12pm Thursday to  12pm Friday 19th Nov and will see those in attendance and some special guests attempt to write and illustrate a 24 page comic within 24 hours. The comic will then be later shown on the Thought Bubble website.

Click the title link to find out the rules and how you can register

Best of luck to all of those taking part.
