Creatively Bankrupt Hollywood strikes again! Bruce Lee TV Project In Development…

bruce-leeSigh.  Not a day goes past that doesn’t remind me that Hollywood is creatively bankrupt.  Whether it be sequels to films no one wanted, blockbusters that bore the pants of you with their cut and paste action sequences or the dreaded R word (Reboot) , Hollywood has officially run out of ideas.

So what’s next? A Bruce Lee TV series. Yes.  Really.

An hour long Lee TV show is in development Perfect Storm Entertainment, Bruno Wu,  Bruce Lee Enterprises and by Fast & Furious Justin Lin , who will most likely direct the pilot episode.  No more details abound at this current moment  but needless to say this doesn’t excite me in any way.

All we do know is that it’s based on an idea from Lee, who wrote at least one of the episodes. The fact it remained un-produced for over 30 years probably tells you something…

THAT SAID… The recent TV from Horror film adaptations of bates Motel and especially Hannibal have worked well and Lin isn’t a talentless director, shepherding the most successful Fast films to the big screen (both commercially and critically).
