The CW Goes on Renewing Spree

Good news for a lot of TV fans today as The CW announced early pickups for 5 of its most popular series.

Arrow, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries live to see another 22 episodes, while freshman contenders Reign and The Originals get the go-ahead for Season 2. Arrow is locked down for a third season, while TVD and Supernatural get impressive sixth and tenth seasons respectively.

I think this is amazing news, and absolutely well deserved for all of these shows. Reign has been a surprise favorite of mine, while my love for The Originals and The Vampire Diaries is well documented. I am not particularly surprised about Arrow, as it continues to get better and better every week. The only show on the list I don’t watch is Supernatural, but it’s already lasted nine seasons and has an immense fan base, so no surprise there.

Notably absent from the list is another freshman drama, The Tomorrow People. I have to admit, at first I wasn’t sure, but I feel it’s really starting to come into its own. Hopefully it’ll also get a chance to keep evolving.

So sit back, relax, and get ready for some more great TV!
