Daniel Radcliffe To launch The Woman In Black DVD/Blu-ray Home Premiere Event

To celebrate the DVD/Blu-ray release of The Woman in Black on June 21st, Daniel Radcliffe has announced that there will be a worldwide home premiere of the horrifying film.

For the first time ever, fans will attend a nationwide event at 8pm, partaking in simultaneously watching the most successful British horror film to date, from the comfort of their own home.

Based on the book written by Susan Hill, The Woman in Black was a huge success, taking an incredible £21 million at the box office.

The Woman in Black was a sure fire hit with critics, with Daily Mail’s film critic Baz Bamigboye, who called the film a “sublime gothic psychological thriller.”

The film tells the story of one Arthur Kipps, a lawyer who is forced to leave his son to attend to the business of the deceased owner of Eel Marsh House, located in a remote village.

As Kipps works at the mansion he soon discovers that the town holds some terrible and dark secrets, dark secrets which could have a very disastrous effect on his own son.

Kipps fears escalate throughout his disturbing journey, as he attempts to thwart the cycle of terror.

Screenwriter Jane Goldman (Kick-AssStardust) manages to keep the film fresh with an engaging, unnerving script that is assisted with some effective camerawork, which truly sends chills up your spine.

Daniel Radcliffe gives it his all with a fantastic lead role, as he showcases that there’s more to the actor than just Harry Potter.

The film also stars Oscar nominee Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds), Ciarán Hinds (TinkerTailorSoldierSpy), and Roger Allam (V for VendettaGame of Thrones).

For the first time in 35 years, Hammer returns with this film under their iconic banner and rightfully so, as it’s a truly shocking movie, which will leave viewers haunted for weeks.

The DVD/Blu-ray release will contain a plethora of additional features, such as a commentary by director James Watkins and screenwriter Jane Goldman, and will also feature several insights into the production of the film.

The Woman in Black is available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download from June 21st and will retail from £17.99.
