Whether it’s Warner Bros, The CW or the DC stable themselves, here are the world-wide mutterings!

This week: Arrow‘s back so here’s some upcoming treats, Gotham gets mobbed and it’s a wonder, woman!

Gotham: Following the news last week that Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, will be played by The Walking Dead‘s Robin Lord Taylor, Fox’s Batman-inspired TV series Gotham has cast The Matrix: Reloaded and Scream 2‘s Jada Pinkett Smith as mob boss Fish Mooney, the first original character on the show. Mooney, who is the boss of Penguin / Oswald Cobblepot, is described as ”A sadistic gangster boss and nightclub owner, Fish Mooney’s got the street smarts and almost extra-sensory abilities to read people like an open book. Imposing and hotheaded, she’s not one to be crossed.” That’s a lot of character for a limited actress…

Wonder Woman: The must-see comic-book documentary Wonder Women! The Untold Story Of American Superheroines is to make its UK debut at London’s BFI Southbank 6.30pm, 8 March 2014. The film explores the origins of Wonder Woman from her first appearance in December 1941 in All-Star Comics #8, with contributions from comic book commentators including Wonder Women herself, Lynda Carter, and sisterhood clone, Lyndsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman).
