Whether it’s Warner Bros, The CW or the DC stable themselves, here are the world-wide mutterings!

This week: Bats gets a new set of wheels, Constantine gets a regional accent, Arrow gets season 3 & spin-off The Flash gets a full order, and Gotham gets the Joke!

Batman vs. Superman: Zack Synder just pulled of the ultimate tease, with this little beauty:

Gotham: With its recent trailer indicating origins stories for The Riddler, The Penguin & Catwoman, it was 50/50 as to whether the new show would step on haloed ground and touch The Joker… it will!

Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller confirmed Batman’s nemesis will eventually appear in the TV origin story, drawing upon Brian Bollard and Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke as an inspiration. “He’s the crown jewel of the Batman villains,” said Heller. “He will be brought in with great care and a lot of thought.” This will be the first time The Joker has appeared in live action since the legendary Oscar-nominated Heath Ledger turn in The Dark Knight – thought to be the main reason no-one would touch the role since Ledger dies a few years ago. “That was a wonderful performance and — apart from everything else — wonderful make-up,” he agrees. “And we should try to live up to that. It will be a different character. It’s certainly going to be more Heath Ledger than Cesar Romero.” Well, that’s a good start…

Constantine: With a strong Northern (English) accent and a penchant for using regional swear words, we got treated to the first look at an all new Constantine, NBC’s new treatment that hopes to vanquish the memory of Keanu Reeve’s one-dimensional performance:

DC on TV: The CW have officially renewed their DC hit Arrow for a 3rd season, as well as adding a full series order for Arrow spin-off The Flash. Refreshing news considering all the recent hacking by the networks… I’m still getting over Dracula!
