Dead and Breakfast – Movie Review

Whats it about?
Six friends on a road trip stop for the night at a Bed and Breakfast in the sleepy town of Lovelock. After a night that leaves both the Inn’s owner and chef dead, the gang finds themselves under suspicion by the local Sheriff.. But that’s only the beginning as nearly all of the town’s quirky residents become possessed by an evil spirit and pin down the friends inside the B&B.

Review it:
Yeah, I know… from the above you are thinking “Jeez, didn’t I already rent this on video about 20 times back in the early 90s?”. Well yeah, you kinda did, but trust me, not like this.
You see, this movie is just… weird. For example, all scenes are linked with stylised comic book images. Not different enough? Ok, how about every time something major happens a guy with a cowboy hat and guitar comes on and sings you a little song about where you are in the plot? Still not different enough? Ok…um… severed head glove puppets? Dance numbers? Oh, and blood and guts. Lots and lots of blood and guts.
As someone who damn near rented the entire horror section from the video shop (thats VIDEO, not dvd) back when I was a teenager, this movie just sang to me… literally. Best horror comedy I’ve seen in ages. Get some mates in, get a load of beer in, and get this movie in. Have a nasty feeling this was designed purely to become a cult movie, but actually rises to the challenge. Loads of gory fun.
