EA announced Fight Night Champion

EA announced Fight Night Champion for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and gave an indication that the series is heading in a new direction.  The EA boxing sim series returns to the ring next year for Xbox 360 and PS3 with a “grittier” take on the sport.

EA Sports’ Andrew Wilson promised a “grittier” and “darker” game with animations and player damage that “truly conveys the brutality of the sport of boxing.” The publisher released a screenshot in support of those comments, depicting a bloodied and battered Manny Pacquiao.

As far as gameplay goes, EA is promising a refined physics-based animation system and a new “Full Spectrum Punch Control” scheme. The publisher didn’t mention the game’s Online Pass-limited multiplayer features, instead focusing on a single-player mode intended to re-create the dramatic and emotional aspects of the sport.

Fight Night Champion is being developed at EA Canada by the team that put together last year’s Fight Night Round 4. It is set for release sometime next year.

What they don’t tell you is…. There is the biggest problem ever found in online gaming going on right now with Fight Night Round 4… The games disconnect online (PS3) at an alarming rate, its got that bad that barely anyone plays Round 4 online (PS3)… The problem started in Dec 09 when EA released the 2nd patch for the game… 9 months later and they are still no further to finding a solution.

EA broke their own game and when the users started complaining on the EA official Fight Night forum, the moderators started banning the loudest members who complained about it… This served as a warning for anyone else who complained about it… There is now a blanket ban on the official Fight Night forum and if anyone brings up this subject they face a ban, this ban also affects the members online accounts.

I think they might be banning people because companys pay (and are still paying) a lot of money to advertise in the online mode of Fight Night Round 4… They are paying, but no-ones seeing, which probably puts EA in breach of contract… You can’t exactly advertise in a product thats not functional and nobodys playing.
