Eli Roth Aftershock’s Red-Band Trailer Promises More Horror

Aftershock-3Starts off like The Hangover, then switches to Lord of the Flies…

The intro of Aftershock greets you like The Hangover, even down to Nicolás Martínez who bears an uncanny resemblance to Zach Galifianakis (no, it’s not just the beard!). And Roth just seems determined to show that he can make films depicting the worst part of human nature (a la Hostel). Oh, and this time, he’s put himself right in the middle of things (rather than in cameo) with close friends Ariel Levy and Martínez.

The story is set in Chile, where a group of (US?) revellers are in an underground nightclub when a massive earthquake hits. However, unlike the spirit that helped rescue all those miners a couple of years ago, the survivors at the epi-centre decide to turn on each other in a pretty manic & creative bloodbath. Take a look at the trailer, yourselves:

Aftershock will be released on 10 May in the US. No UK release date has been confirmed
