Farscape is back…well in comics it is but hey it worked for Buffy

‘Muppets in space the TV series’… that was my first thought on Farscape when I accidently stumbled across a scene with Rigel while channel hopping one day. Months later a friend of mine was telling me how good Farscape was and how I would love it to which I replied.

“hmm looks like Muppets in Space to me.”

“Give it another try mate,” my friend advised. “This time for more than five minutes.”

I did and I was hooked and became a huge Farscape fan. I watched all the seasons and the two-part tv movie/finale The Peacekeeper Wars. I thought that was the end of the story but apparently not. It seems original series creator Rockne O’Bannon has penned a story for a Farscape comic to be put out by Boom Studios that will continue on from where The Peacekeeper Wars left off. This was annouced in the summer so I guess I must have been living under a rock to miss this. Anyway CBR has done an interview with O’Bannon about the project.

I’m hoping that this will be as good as the Buffy season 8 comic. I also hope I can get used to the fact that I’m not watching this on TV. One of the things I loved about Farscape was manicness of it all and some of the weird ass visuals and effects in the show. Some of that is going to be lost in the comic. If the art is cracking and the story is just as good then I’ll learn to live with the loss. I’ll find out I guess when the comic launches in November.
