First Guests Announced for Sci-Fi Weekender 5

sc-fi-weekenderDoes SFW4 seem like ages ago? Fear not, guests have just been announced for next years weekender, so start saving now for SFW5.

The Sci Fi Weekender takes place on Friday 28th March through to Sunday 30th March 2014 at its home of Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, Pwllheli, North Wales.

With only 325 days  to go (not that I’m counting) the first of the guests have already been announced, check them out below:

ETHAN PHILLIPS – Best know as Neelix in Star Trek: Voyager

RENE AUBERJONOIS – Best know as Odo in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

STEPHEN GREIF – Best know as Travis in Blake 7

SIMON FISHER-BECKER – Starred as the Fat Friar in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and also Dorium Maldovar in series 5 & 6 of Doctor Who.

ROBERT RANKIN – The SFW favourite and  his wife Rachel will be back for another year. Not only to sell his books, but also to present many of the Q&A Panels again.

Also adding an element of educational comedy to the daytime proceedings coming back are, Zombie Science: Worst Case Scenario Zombie Science – with a new spoof tutorial on the real science behind a disease outbreak. Join Theoretical Zombiologist Doctor Austin as he puts you at the heart of a hypothetical Zombieism epidemic, and teaches you what to do when a Zombie outbreak occurs. Featuring a multi-media presentation and interactive demonstrations, the outcome of the outbreak is down to you; with multiple endings depending on how you decide to deal with the Zombies.

And finally Darth Elvis & The Imperials, a Star Wars themed Elvis tribute band from Viva Mos Eisley. The bands bio reads “In 1977 Elvis didn’t die he turned to the Darkside of the Force and ever since he has been playing music venues around the Outer Rim Territory. The time has come for the Dark King of the Sith & his band of Imperials to return to the Galaxy where he is best known.” The band performed for the first time at the Official Star Wars convention Celebration Europe back in 2007 and have been thrilling audiences ever since with their unique mixture of rock n roll, comedy & outlandish performances.

With more announcements coming in due course, we will obviously keep you posted.  But for more information check out Sci-Fi Weekender’s site linked below.
