Food + Game of Thrones = Geekout Fest!

I geek out over a lot of things but two of those things are food and sci-fi/fantasy shows.

Living in New York City, I have access to hundreds of amazing cuisines across the globe and over the years, that’s turned me into a bit of a foodie. Additionally, I know I’m not the only one looking forward to HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones, based on the book series by George R. R. Martin.

To that end, HBO and star chef Tom Colicchio have joined the food truck craze and will be serving up tastes of Westerosi cooking via Game of Thrones food trucks. They’ll be dishing out five different regional dishes, including cuisine from King’s Landing, Winterfell and the Wall.

Starting today in New York and next week  in Los Angeles, the food trucks will give out free meals from one region each day.  But the supply is limited – so first come, first served!

Here’s how it will work: Each morning, a video of the day’s dishes will be posted on both Facebook and Twitter, along with a hint to the general time and neighborhood that the food trucks will appear later that day.  Once the trucks have parked, another update will be posted with their precise locations.

Making Game of Thrones posted complete menus of the week’s fare, so check the website to see what tasty nibbles are in store and below for a video about today’s food:
