From Dusk Till Dawn Becoming TV Series

220px-From_dusk_till_dawn_posterThat’s right folks after Stargate, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Hannibal, cult classic From Dusk Till Dawn by Robert Rodriguez is set to be made into it’s own TV series.

It’s being reported that the film is being adapted into a televised series under the El Rey Network Banner, which also happens to be Rodriguez’s latest creation, and owned by Univision. The English language Station will launch later this year, with From Dusk Till Dawn and another untitled show produced by Star Trek Into Darkness scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

FILM PLOT SYNOPSIS:

After a bank heist robber Seth Gecko (George Clooney) and his psychopath brother Richard (Quentin Tarantino) decide to stop for a while in a low-budget motel. Also stopped in the same motel is  former minister Jacob Fuller (Harvey Keitel) who is traveling on vacation with his son Scott (Ernest Liu) and his daughter Kate (Juliette Lewis) in a RV. Jacob has lost his faith after the death of his beloved wife. When Seth sees the RV he abducts Jacob and his family to help him and his brother escape across the Mexican border, promising to release them on the next morning. They head to the truck drivers and bikers bar Titty Twister where Seth will meet with his partner Carlos in the dawn. It may look like a normal bar but they will soon discover that the bar is a coven of vampires, and to stay alive they need to join forces and fight till dawn.

No release date has been set yet, so stay tuned for more news as it comes. With From Dusk Till Dawn being a favourite of mine, I know I can’t wait to see what they plan to do.

the question is who (as in what network) get’s the show?
Fx would be good as would Showtime or HBO

    • Hmmm I think any one of the three you mentioned would be a good fit. Not sure how can stretch into a series at the moment.

well you go with the ending of the film

and you have both survivor hunting vamps on there own and encounter each other

you have the whole aztek/myan temple thing at the end that’s a lot of myth to run with
