Get a Taster of Local Sci-Fi film The Call Up at MCM Birmingham Comic Con

Visitors to this year’s MCM Birmingham Comic Con will have the chance to sample new sci-fi film The Call Up. The film has just started filming locally to Birmingham and is the debut movie from award-winning commercials director Charles Barker. The film producers, John Giwa-Amu and Matt Wilkinson will be in attendance at the show.

The Call Up follows an elite group on online gamers invited to test a state-of-the-art virtual reality game; a next-level gaming experience that brings modern warfare to life with frightening realism. But what starts as a dream encounter with cutting edge technology quickly turns into a living nightmare. Now the masters of the shoot ’em up have a real fight on their hands!

Whilst cast appearances at the show are to be confirmed, the film itself stars Max Deacon (Into the Storm) in the lead role, along with Morfydd Clark (Madame Bovary), Ali Cook (The Anomaly), Parker Sawyers (Monsters: Dark Continent), Tom Benedict Knight (Dracula Untold), Boris Ler (In The Land Of Blood And Honey), Douggie McMeekin and Adriana Randall.
