Ghostbusters 3 Back On But No Murray

So Ghostbusters 3 will go ahead but not with the whole cast. Will it work or is what the franchise needs?

Bill Murray has made it clear that he does not want to be involved in the film and Dan Aykroyd has accepted it so what next.

The best idea I heard about this film was brining in some new blood to take over from the original cast and that sounds like a fun approach it the new team are perfect casting. I loved Murray in the first two films but as I think about it I am not that gutted to hear he will not be back. As long as the story is good then bring it on I say.

Also I think this could be a great vehicle for 3D to work great with the ghosts and the beams. This could make the experience really enjoyable for the audience.

Co-creator and writer Dan Aykroyd made that clear late last year when he told the media that production for a third Ghostbusters would go on with or without Murray’s involvement. Flash forward to this week and Dan is making that clear once again. While talking to Empire, here’s what Aykroyd had to say on the possibility.

“We communicate frequently and his position on the involvement in ‘Ghostbusters 3’ has been made clear and I respect that,” says Aykroyd

He also talked about the possibility of bringing Rick Moranis out of retirement for his respective character.

“If we can get the script to ‘Ghostbusters 3’ right, then it would definitely have Moranis as a major component. None of us would want to do the movie without having him as a participant.”
