Hughes Bros. Release Book Of Eli Trailer

I keep on sitting on this, but I don’t know why.

From Comingsoon

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the trailer for Allen and Albert Hughes’ The Book of Eli, starring Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman and Mila Kunis. Opening January 15, 2010, the film revolves around a lone warrior (Washington) who must fight to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption. Oldman plays the despot of a small makeshift town who’s determined to take possession of the book Eli’s guarding.

I like the look of this movie, but I don’t know. It feels like a mix between, Ghost Dog, Six String Samurai and The Warrior And The Sorceress.

The thing that tees me off is that this isn’t a summer feature. It seems that any film that has a spark of originality is always, always put in a “dump season” (Dump Season: Sept-Nov; Jan-Apr). This could make decent pay in the summer when people will have cash to pass around. Not when people are financially meagre. It’s like they want this movie to fail.
