Immortals Images Released

Relativity Media were kind enough to send us some High-Res photographs from their upcoming ‘3D Epic’ Immortals, which is showing in Movie theatres on November 11th. Immortals is directed by Tarsem Singh, most famous for The Cell, an edgy FBI thriller with a Sci/Fi twist, and written by Charles and Vlas Parlapanides who have both been a-w-o-l since 2004. But are both Greek natives, which bodes well for Immortals as it is set in ancient Greece.

You can view the pictures in the gallery below:

And here is the press release we received earlier today:

Directed by Tarsem Singh (The Cell) and written by Charles Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides, Immortals stars Henry Cavill (“The Tudors”), Stephen Dorff (Public Enemies), Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Luke Evans (Robin Hood), Kellan Lutz (Twilight series), with John Hurt (Hellboy), and Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2).

In Immortals, the ruthless King Hyperion (Rourke) leads his bloodthirsty army on a murderous rampage across Greece to find a deadly weapon that will destroy humanity. A mortal chosen by Zeus named Theseus (Cavill) must lead the fight against Hyperion and his evil army with the fate of mankind and the Gods at stake.

Immortals is produced by Mark Canton (300), Gianni Nunnari (Shutter Island) and Ryan Kavanaugh (Dear John), and Executive Produced by Tucker Tooley (Dear John), Tommy Turtle (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), and Jeff G. Waxman (Law Abiding Citizen).

So what does everyone think to this? Personally, I’m not too sure… But to be honest ancient Greece is not my forté. The images look a little too perfect to me, and Henry Cavill looks too much like the Werewolf guy from Twilight (wasn’t a fan). Mickey Rourke’s make up looks pretty awesome though. The story sounds a little generic as well, but now I’m just nitpicking. Bear in mind though, that the final production will be in 3D, so who know what’s in store…
