Is Metamorpho Set to Join The Flash in Arrow Season 2, Too?!

Could The CW be that cruel to lead us on?!?

After a pretty grounded first season, with Oliver Queen’s Arrow seemingly so rooted in a real-world Starling City, that he doesn’t even go by his full comic moniker. it looks like The CW’s hit superhero show is now fully prepared to go full-tilt, when it comes to introducing characters from the wider DC Comics universe. First, we had confirmation that the Flash will appear in at least three episodes next season, potentially heralding his own show in due course. Now we have more comment regarding his debut from executive producer Geoff Johns, ”He’s going to usher in some new and pretty insane concepts to the Arrow world, but in a very grounded way.”

So now we have show-runner Marc Guggenheim tweet teasing the arrival of Rex Mason, aka Metamorpho, the changling Element Man, with a hint that his origin story may be chemical-based rather than exotic radiation exposure, like the comics:

Of course, it could all be a “Wayne Enterprises Logo in picture” Easter Egg, but you’ve got to figure that The CW (co-owned by Warner Bros.) must have at least one eye on developments at Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., what with Metamorpho (like The Flash) also appearing in the Justice League (albeit occasionally)…

Arrow Season 2 is due to return this October on Sky 1.
