Films in Concert is back and this time its bringing John Williams

So a few years back I was lucky enough to get to see Raiders of the Lost Ark live at the Royal Albert Hall. Of course when I mean live I don’t there was a giant boulder rolling down the middle of the concert hall, chasing an aging Harrison ford, although I’m now sensing a kickstarter idea forming. The live element was provided by a full orchestra which took over the film’s musical duties, performing John Williams epic score. I have to say this was an experience that I can’t do jutsice here and it needs to be witnessed first hand.

Lucky for you this year the Royal Albert Hall are running its popular Films in Concert series once again. Some of the films on offer to watch alongside a live orchestra include Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Star Trek, Star Trek Beyond, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Gladiator, Jurassic Park and Star Wars.

The highlight of the season is ‘An Evening with John Williams’ where the great composer will be taking a UK stage for the first time in 22 years in front of the London Symphony Orchestra. I’m now currently saving up to pay off the credit card bill I’ve just run up buying tickets to see him but I know this is going to be money well spent.

Tickets are sale over at the Royal Albert Hall, with the tickets for the John Williams event going on sale today from 9am but move fast if you want some because they will go fast.

If you are a fan of film soundtracks, John Williams and any of these films are on your fave film list (or even if you just like them) then try and find the cash (unfortunately it’s not cheap) to make the trip down to London and check it out.
