From the producer of The Minister of Chance and the pens of comedy duo Trev and Simon comes a Space Adventure comedy like no other.
Coming soon to Kickstarter, Strangnesss in Space harkens back to the glory days of 1980s Saturday morning sketches. The show has one foot firmly planted in the decade that inspired it as Gift shop manager Sophie (Sophie Aldred, Doctor Who, Tree Fu Tom) and the pop duo Pink Custard (Trev and Simon,Going Live!, Live and Kicking) get whisked away into the far reaches of space in a damaged space ship. There they will encounter the weird (Featherheads?), the bizarre (Rhinocerbikers?) and the Sinister (Dr. Scarifium).
The series will run for as many episodes as can be funded through the course of the campaign and will feature guest appearances by many familiar faces along the way.
The Kickstarter campaign will begin on 24 March, 2015 and it’s one that certainly holds appeal for me as a child of the 1980s and a fan of audio dramas, comedies and Sophie Aldred. Oh – and artwork from the amazing Lee Sullivan doesn’t hurt either!
