Marvel Mutterings: Agents of SHIELD, Ant-Man, Spider-Man & Capt America

Whether it’s Fox, Sony or the Marvel stable themselves, here are the world-wide witterings!

This week: Sony line up a female superhero film, SHIELD gets an A-class villain, the first looks from Ant-Man and bloopers from on Cap Am!

Ant-Man: And so we a first look at Paul Rudd shifty-looking Scott Lang for Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man movie:

As well as Evangeline Lilly giving a first glimpse of her Ant-Man heroine Hope Van Dyne, daughter of original Ant-Man inventor Hank Pym and superhero Wasp, Janet Van Dyne:

Spider-Man: well, don’t hold your breath waiting for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 –  Sony has pushed it out from 2016 to 2018 (how will Garfield pass off still being a teenager?) as it seems that 2016 Sinister Six movie will now be followed by a female-led superhero film in 2017. It would appear that Sony are keen to capitalise on Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, who was introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with options on Spider-Girl, and the second Spider-Woman, Julia Carpenter. To be fair, I say good on Sony – Marvel seem to have axed the idea of a Black Widow film, and likewise DC/Warner won’t commit to a Wonder Woman movie – pull your (collective) fingers out boy, my 5-year old daughter needs role models!!!

Oh, and if you are still pining for the Ol’ Web-head, check out this deleted scene:

Agents of SHIELD: Marvel announced that they have cast one of the most powerful comic universe characters available to them. Brian Patrick Wade will appear as Carl ‘Crusher’ Creel, also known as The Absorbing Man, who has the power to take on the properties of anything he touches – in the comics he gains his powers courtesy of the trickster, Loki.

BTW, in case you missed it, there is the most excellent blooper reel for Agents of SHIELD doing the rounds:

Captain America: and speaking of blooper reels, have you seen the one for Cap Am 2 – Winter Soldier:

Keep the faith, true believers!!!
