Merlin Stars McGrath & Coulby in New TV Shows

angelcoulbyLancome and Harper's Bazaar Pre-BAFTA Party Hosted by Kate Winslet - ArrivalsBefore you get too excited, the former Merlin co-stars are not going to be on the same series but they’ll soon be gracing our screens once more. One will be starring in the UK remake of a popular Scandinavian crime thriller, the other an adaption of the most famous vampire of them all. Who’s doing what? Read on to find out!

Angel Coulby will soon be seen as Jessie on BBC Two’s 5-part period drama Dancing on the Edge but after that? She’ll be starring alongside Game of Thrones‘ Stephen Dillane, Spooks actress Keeley Hawes and Clémence Poésy (Birdsong) in Sky Atlantic’s remake of The Bridge, now retitled The Tunnel. Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones), Adam Roebuck (Mrs Biggs) and Liz Smith (The Royle Family) also star.

While the original series follows a police investigation following the discovery of a dead body on the bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden, The Tunnel will focus on relations between the UK and France and will air on Sky Atlantic in late 2013.

Also a few weeks back, we told you about some new upcoming shows that could become your next favorite after Merlin left the airwaves. Little did we know that Katie McGrath who played the wicked Morgana Pendragon would be playing another woman with a penchant for the finer things in life. Also starring another Game of Thrones alum, Nonso Anozie, McGrath is joining the cast of NBC’s Dracula as Lucy Westenra – starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the title role.

Taking place in Victorian London, Lucy is a sexy, social butterfly with a penchant for gossip and all things glamorous whose love of everything shiny leads her down a path of lies and temptation, testing the boundaries of friendship with her BFF Mina (Arrow’s Jessica De Gouw).

NBC’s take centers around Dracula who is preparing to take revenge on Victorian society for ruining his life until he falls for a woman who’s a dead ringer for his beloved, long-deceased wife, throwing his plans into turmoil

I’m looking forward to both of these – what do you guys think of the ladies new gigs?
