More Potter News! Major Change to Deathly Hallows Pt 2

While I’m a die-hard fan of Harry Potter, I’m not a purist — half the time I don’t remember a lot of the intricate details J.K. Rowling has weaved throughout the series. But this change is a BIG ONE and is VERY SPOILERY! Said spoiler has been confirmed by Art Director, Andrew Ackland-Snow and according to him, Rowling agreed to and loved the change.

It concerns one Severus Snape and you can read at your own risk after the cut!

Everyone knows that in Deathly Hallows, Snape dies in the Shrieking Shack. Not so in the movie! He’s going to kick the bucket at the Boathouse instead! So why there? According to the creative team and Ackland-Snow, it’s to give him a more romanticized and dramatic end as “Snape dies in an extremely good way…”

I think visually, it’ll be a hauntingly beautiful death scene. Story-wise, I guess we’ll see how it turns out with the change of location. What do fellow fans think?

Boathouse works for me. Severus Snape deserves a beautifully tragic end.

I think it’ll be done quite nicely – so looking forward to this film!
