More X-Men Veterans Set to Return for “Days of Future Past”

XMenLogoBryan Singer’s directorial return to the X-franchise with Days of Future Past, the planned sequel to 2011’s X-Men: First Class, and his first film with the merry mutants since 2003’s X-Men 2, had already stated the return of Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier) and Ian McKellen (Magneto) to the cast, but now yet more alumni of Singer’s franchise are set to appear in the film.

In a post on Mr. Singer’s twitter feed, he announced three more additional cast members: “Very excited to welcome #annapaquin,@ellenpage & @shawnrashmore to #XMen#DaysofFuturePast – thank you @BrettRatner for letting them live!”

So rounding out the appearances of grown up Prof X and Magneto, we can also expect to see Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Rogue (Anna Paquin), and Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) – and let’s not forget the original cast of First Class, also billed to return.

The film is likely based on the Chris Claremont/John Byrne classic story line of the same name that appeared in 1981’s Uncanny X-Men #141-142, which brings the young X-Men to a dystopian anti-mutant future.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to open 18th July 2014, with X-Men First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fasbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult plus others set to return.
