New Ninth Doctor Comic from Titan and the BBC in 2016

Titan Comics and BBC Worldwide have announced a brand new ongoing Ninth Doctor comic to be released
next year.

Titan took over the licence to publish Doctor Who comics from IDW in 2014 and began their highly acclaimed run with a five-part mini-series featuring the Ninth Doctor as played in the television series by Christopher Eccleston.

The Ninth Doctor Issue 1

Due to the mini-series popularity, the Ninth Doctor will now join the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors as a monthly ongoing title all of which have had strong critical acclaim and sales.

Cavan Scott who wrote the Ninth Doctor mini-series will carry on as the comic’s main writer.

Scott, who co-wrote the rather excellent Doctor Who miscellany Who-ology with fellow writer Mark Wright had this to say this to say about the upcoming series which will feature the return of at least two beloved characters.

It’s absolutely fantastic that the Ninth Doctor is returning for more adventures with Rose and Captain Jack. The new ongoing series kicks off a new era and a new mission for this much-loved TARDIS team. Along the way they’ll encounter old friends and foes as well as startling new faces. I’ve been blown away by the love for Doctor Number Nine that I’ve seen at comic cons and signings over the last year. It’s a real privilege to be continuing the Ninth Doctor’s story. It really is the trip of a lifetime.

The Ninth Doctor comic will open with a three-part story-line with interior art by Adriana Melo (Miss Marvel and Spider-man) and we will be sure to bring you a review once it hits the shelves.
