New Terminator Series from Sarah Connor Chronicles Writers

Marvel and its TV show Agents of SHIELD have plenty to answer for. Now that looks like including a new Terminator TV series set within the same universe as the forthcoming Terminator movies – the first of which is due in 2015, staring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World and Game of Thrones).

Writer-producers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, who worked on the successful and entertaining Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are planning to ape Marvel’s success with their movie universe and TV spinoffery. Where did they get that idea? Well, they also worked on the script for the first Thor film and as any self-respecting geek knows, Thor: The Dark World recently had a tie-in episode with Agents of SHIELD. It’s all connected! Stentz and Miller also wrote the screenplay for X-Men: First Class, and produced 22 episodes of Fringe. They have the credentials. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, who are writing the Terminator reboot, will executive produce.

According to a report from the Ain’t It Cool website, Deadline Hollywood have said that this new TV show will “follow a critical moment from the original 1984 Terminator movie, taking it in a completely different direction that [sic] the film”. It also states that as “the rebooted film trilogy and the new television series progress, the two narratives will be designed to intersect with each other”. Sounds exciting. 2015 is a going to a big year for Terminator fans then!

  1. I enjoyed the Sarah Connor Chronicles, but what really excites me is the increase in movie/tv crossovers. Come on Ron Howard – the time to resurrect the Dark Tower project is NOW!
