No Heroics

Brand new for 2008, No Heroics is a six-part series that sees a group of British off-duty superheroes living their day-to-day life – which for supposed saviours of the world is actually rather normal, as they just can’t be a***d.

Instead, this group of B-listers would rather get drunk and commiserate their lack of superiority in their local superheroes-only pub, The Fortress, reading New Power Express and bitching about everyone who’s more successful than them.

I know what you’re thinking and I was right there with you. When I first about this new ITV 2 series based on the lives of a group of off-duty superheroes the old bullshit alarm was working overtime. I thought this is just going to be a cheap attempt to cash in on the whole superhero movie phase we’ll still caught up in(not complaining about that mind). It’s going to be done be people who have no clue on how to take the piss out of the superhero genre and it’s going to be bad…real bad. I have to say though I’ve just watched this full trailer and there’s definately potential in there. I’m just hoping all the best lines weren’t used up in the trailer. So far The Hotness, Excelsor and Timebomb had the lionshare of the one liners.

See for yourself and let us know what you thought. The show starts  on Thursday 18th September at 22:30 on ITV2.

I wonder how come before we get the comic adaptation (what? too cynical?).
