Outpost 11 at Raindance and Artificial Horizon gets Kickstarted

Back in June we brought you news of director and writer Anthony Woodley’s latest film projects. We’re now delighted to bring you the news that Outpost 11 is to be shown at Raindance, while Artificial Horizon received its required funding on Kickstarter.

The Raindance Film Festival, for the uninitiated, is one of the major film festivals for independent films, which operates from London, but also in New York, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Budapest, Berlin and Brussels. Noted films from past Raindance’s include Pulp Fiction, Memento and Ben Wheatley’s debut, Down Terrace. Woodley’s Outpost 11 is to be screened on Friday 27 September at 5.45pm at the Vue, Piccadilly in London. This is especially good news for Woodley as this year’s festival is celebrating its 21st anniversary, and the screening is 3 days before the official UK release. The Raindance website describes Outpost 11 as a ‘confinement movie like the Evil Dead and Buried’ and ‘is a bizarre and intoxicating beast that brings to mind classics in paranoid horror, such as John Carpenter’s The Thing’. I for one, am looking forward to seeing it. To book tickets, visit the Raindance website here.

Meanwhile, 165 people backed Woodley’s next film, Artificial Horizon, on Kickstarter, meaning that the project is funded. IMDB shows its status as in pre-production. Woodley says it has a bigger budget and cast, and is due to start shooting in October. More news is sure to follow.

Geek Syndicate wishes Anthony Woodley and his team well with the Raindance performance of Outpost 11 and the UK DVD release on 30th September. Look out for a review soon.
