Cupsogue Pictures has announced today that Paul Blackthorne will star in its upcoming new fantasy action movie Dark Ascension. Known for various roles, from Detective Quentin Lance in Arrow, to appearances in The Flash and 24, Blackthorne will play the part of Willis in Dark Ascension, described as a rebellious alpha-male living in a war-torn afterlife.
The plot of the film itself follows three new arrivals to the Afterlife: Willis, Taylor and Danni, as they try to navigate the place with help from Guardian Paul. The trouble is, there is a bit of a war on between Heaven and Hell, and these three must find a way to put things right. Seems a big heap of responsibility!
Other talent starring in the movie includes the likes of Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead), Jillian Murray (Bad Ass), Nathan Jones (Troy) and Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean). The directorial role goes to Gene Fallaize with the executive producer being Scott Spiegel (Evil Dead).
Dark Ascension is due for release in 2016.
