Petition to Save UK’s ‘Hobbit House’ Underway

pembrokehouse2Pembrokeshire Council want to demolish a home-made “hobbit house” as it causes “harm to the appearance of the countryside”.

Charlie Hague and Megan Williams built their own home out of locally sourced materials after spending four years living in a caravan, but the local authority, citing lack of formal planning permission for the small, one-story dwelling, are now seeking to enforce demolition. Which is a shame, as not only does it look pretty cool, it’s also build to sustainability guidelines that the Welsh Assembly are trying to expand. A petition to save the property can be found here.

You can also watch a video and get a little more insight into this beautiful house.
