Millions of years from now, after Socrates, Shakespeare and the Bible are long forgotten, only two great works will remain: the sci-fi cinema epic Star Wars and Adult Swim’s stop-motion animated, cheap gag extravaganza Robot Chicken. And now, for the first time, they come together for the third time, in this all new special. That’s right, all your most beloved Star Wars characters are going back through the comedy meat grinder.

Having only been an occasional watcher of Robot Chicken I was looking forward to the third release of the series. The story starts off with Emperor Palpatine and his back story which has some very amusing tales. Among the other tales we see clips from the whole saga with some mixed results. There are a few moments of laugh out loud geeky genius like the escalator scene and the Bobba Fett scenes. Also the Jawa transport is just superb and do not miss the speeder bike test. However I could not find too much to laugh at the Darth Vader clips. Maybe it is just me or is ol Anakin not that scary anymore?

The cast is impressive with a few of the original cast playing their old roles including Ahmed Best (Jar Jar), Billy Dee Williams (Lando) and Anthony Daniels as C3PO.

Any way the DVD itself is a great way to spend a geeky evening with friends have a few drinks and sit back and watch the Star Wars universe unfold like you have never seen before, well unless you have seen Robot Chicken Star Wars 1 and 2 then you get the drift.

Watch Darth Vader fall into a toilet, while Emperor Palpatine rides the endless Death Star escalator! See Gary the Stormtrooper’s speederbike test-drive come to a gruesome, Ewok-splattering end! And witness the firepower of Boba Fett’s fully armed and operational T-SHIRT CANNON! Plus much, much more! It’s Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III. Set your phasers to ”fun”! (Oh wait, wrong franchise.)
