Samurai Riot Comes to Steam in September

Although online multiplayer is overwhelmingly popular these days, there are still who take pleasure in teaming up with friends or loved ones, couch co op style. Maybe Samurai Riot will be your next adventure? Samurai Riot is a 2D, side-scrolling beat ’em up from indie developers Wako Factory, who hail from France. Wako Factory was created 3 years ago, and Samurai Riot is their first effort

In Samurai Riot, you can choose to play as either Sukane or Tsurumaru, two samurai with distinct fighting styles. Tsurumaru fights with a traditional sword, while Sukane fights with her fists- and has a cute fox companion to fight alongside her. Back in the day, side scrolling games like this offered you only a few new moves as you progressed. Now, a game like Samurai Riot can promise much more. As you progress, you can train your character in 14 fighting schools, or branches on your skill tree. Riot also boasts 8 different endings, so therein lies the replay value.

I’m willing to see more, because there are only two trailers so far. If the game is really as deep as it is advertised. It appears that you can use the characters’ moves together for interesting combo attacks. I would like to see another gameplay trailer before it comes out.

If Samurai Riot sounds good to you, you can see more on the official Steam page. The game will go for £10.99 ($14.99, €14.99).
