There’s little better than a good Sci-Fi convention, lots of people geeking out and rubbing shoulders with the stars of their favourite shows or films. Actually, there is one thing better… a Sci-Fi convention that raises money for a good cause. Sci-Fi Ball 22 is coming to the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton between the 5th and 7th February and it will help to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.
Guests include a number of Star Trek stars including Vaughn Armstrong, Casey Biggs, Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer along with actors from other shows such as Doctor Who‘s Annette Badland and Game of Thrones‘ Sabrina Bartlett. There will also be other guests including writers James Moran and Robert Rankin, as well as illustrator Lee Bradley.
As far as events and activities, SF Ball 22 has you covered, with a whole host of activities happening every day. These include Q&A sessions, various competitions, plenty of merch to browse and buy, a table-top gaming room and much much more. Checkout the SF Ball website at the bottom of the page for more information about what happens and when.
Since 2009, the SF Ball has raised more than £22,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that aims to give young people diagnosed with cancer the expert treatment and support they deserve.
“The SF Ball has been giving science fiction fans a fun-packed weekend raising vital funds for charity for twenty-two years. In this time, I have seen so many people come to their first SF Ball and then return every year after to mingle with their favourite stars and make friends that they keep for a lifetime”. – Director of SFB Events – Anne Lindup.
