Sci Fi Weekender Announces More Guests

Sci Fi Weekender announces more star guests including Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones), Brian Blessed and more… (March 1st –3rd)

The newly christened Sci Fi Weekender has a lot to live up to and they seem to hitting the right track with some more big names announced for the event. This has been the highlight of the Con Calender for the last 3 years so lets hope it is just as good this time round.

Next Spring’s Sci Fi Weekender – now in its Fourth year – is pleased to announce its second round of guests for next Spring’s event, which takes place March 1st-3rd at Haven, at the Hafan y Mor Holiday Park, in Pwllheli, North Wales.
Jerome Flynn – aka Bronn from Game Of Thrones – known for captaining Tyrion’s guards, joins Richard Madden – aka Robb Stark – who is also already confirmed to appear, giving next Spring’s event a strong Game of Thrones presence.

Also back by public demand is one of our favourite guests to date – none other than the legend that is BRIAN BLESSED – who will again not only be recalling his appearances in Doctor Who and being the Voice of Boss Nass from Star Wars but, of course, recalling many other of his roles across countless TV shows and Films, as well as his experiences as a qualified astronaut and, if that’s not enough, I am sure you can expect to hear those inspired words “GORDON’S ALIVE”.

Also just added to next Spring’s line-up is horror/fantasy author Sam Stone – winner of the Best Novel award at the 2011 British Fantasy Society Awards for her book “Demon Dance” – which follows a number of equally highly revered titles, including “Killing Kiss”, “Futile Flame” and “Silent Sand”, to name but a few.
Also joining the line-up is David J Howe, known for being involved with Doctor Who research and writing for over thirty years, having written more than thirty factual titles associated with the show. He also has one of the largest collections of Doctor Who merchandise in the world and was Contributing Editor of Starburst magazine for 17 years. David is currently Editorial Director of horror/sci-fi publisher Telos Publishing Ltd.

He joins none other than Peter Davison aka the Fifth Doctor Who and who is also already confirmed to attend next Spring’s event.

The Sci Fi Weekender would never be complete without its own resident DJ Craig Charles – aka Red Dwarf’ s Dave Lister – taking to the turntables to provide the sounds for our annual Masquerade Ball.

Last and by no means least, we have to mention the event’s host , fantasy/sci-fi author Robert Rankin, who resumes his role at the forefront of the event and who will also host a variety of activities and panels across the weekend, ably joined by David Howe. .

The recently re-named Sci Fi Weekender team are keener than ever to make next Spring’s event the best to date and want to ensure the entertainment is better than ever before, with a number of exciting and imminent announcements in the pipeline, as well as more entertainment promised than ever before – as well as Q&As from the guests, readings, screenings, Comedy, Intergalactic pub quizzes and much, much more!

The Sci Fi Weekender takes place on Friday 1st March through to Sunday 3rd March at the new, upgraded location of Hafan y Mor Holiday Park,
Pwllheli,
Gwynedd,
North Wales.
