Shigeto Koyama to be anime guest of honour at MCM London Comic Con

Shigeto Koyama

The lovely people over at MCM have recently confirmed that at the forth coming London Comic Con (23rd to 25th October 2015, are you guys ready – because I’m not!) that Shigete Koyama will be the anime guest of honour.

If you’re not totally sure who Shigeto Koyama is or why this is pretty amazing news, let me ask you this:

Did you watch Disney’s Big Hero 6?

Did you have a favourite character?

Was is Baymax?

Chances are that the beloved healthcare robot has a place in your heart and always will and we have Mister Koyama to thank for that as he was the one to design Baymax’s look. Along with Big Hero 6  Koyama has worked on a string of acclaimed anime, such as hyperkinetic Studio Trigger series Kill la Kill and Hideaki Anno’s Rebuild of Evangelion movies.

Koyama made his anime debut in 2004 with Diebuster and since then has worked on the design for loads of the top mecha animations, such as; Gurren Lagann, Eureka Seven and its sequels, Star Driver and Yoshiyuki Tomino’s 2014 series Gundam Reconguista in G.

There are a tonne more anime under his belt and you can check them out at his IMDB page here.

The announcement of Koyama attending London Comic Con later this month sets the tone for what else we can expect from the con, and I for one am looking forward to the convention more and more with each passing day.

Keep your eye on GS as we’ll be bringing you plenty of top notch MCM content before, during and after the convention!
