Stan Lee to Place Hand and Footprints at TCL Chinese Theatre in July

In 2017, Stan Lee will celebrate his 95th birthday and 70th wedding anniversary. It will also be the 78th anniversary of the day he began working at Timely Comics (now Marvel) as an ink well filler. Legion M, a media company built to be owned by fans, wanted to do something special for Stan, and they’ve come up with ICON: Celebrating Stan Lee, the first ever hand and footprint ceremony to be held at the TCL Chinese Theatre to be organized and hosted by fans.

Taking place at 11AM on the 18th of July (which is also the eve of the San Diego Comic-Con), Stan will be leaving his impressions in cement on the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX, Hollywood Blvd, by taking part in one of Hollywood’s traditions that goes back to the 1920’s.

“Stan Lee gave us the heroes that fueled our imagination and aspirations. Now, WE, the fans, are coming together to give this permanent monument and tribute to the man that gave us so much.” Kevin Smith, Filmmaker, Actor, Writer, Comedian and Stan Lee Fan.

If you would like to take part in some way, head over to the Legion M site. On there you will find a variety of fan packages, starting from $10 which will see you given an event pin and the opportunity to have your name and a photo or artwork presented to him as part of a Tribute Book and photo mosaic. As you might imagine, other packages get more and more expensive, culminating in the $5,000 Ultimate Fan Package that includes two VIP tickets to the event and a meet and greet with Stan himself. Whatever your budget, if you want to give something that will help mark Stan’s big occasion, I think you’ll find a package that appeals.

Below you can see our very own Monts meeting Stan awhile ago. Top man. Let’s make his day as awesome as it deserves to be!
