Syfy to Debut ‘FanCam’ at London Super Comic Con 2015

If you go to the trouble of dressing up as your favourite character from anime, gaming or any number of other media types and genres, it’s nice to have some really high quality photos as a keepsake and reward for the time you spent putting it all together. You could slum it and get a friend to take a photo on their smartphone. You could go more upmarket and have someone with a DSLR take a more detailed snap. Both will pale in comparison to Syfy’s FanCam technology that will be exclusively unveiled at this years London Super Comic Convention.

FanCam is a panoramic camera set-up that will generate a 360 degree image which is designed to capture every last costume detail and leave no button uncaptured. Even if you don’t intend to go to LSCC in costume, the Syfy team will have a selection of themed props to hand so anyone can see the technology in action.

Wherever possible we want to offer viewers and fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with our channel brands. Debuting ‘FanCam’ at such a popular event is a perfect opportunity for Syfy to enhance the experience of cosplayers and fans of the comic and science fiction genres. The Syfy team is looking forward to seeing attendees add a whole different dimension to their experience of the convention via our ‘FanCam.’ – Nicky  Douglas, Managing Director UK, Universal Networks International

London Super Comic Convention 2015 takes place 14th-15th March at the Excel Centre, London. Tickets and other information can be found at the LSCC website here.
