EA Backtracks on Wii U Game Production Statement

WiiUI posted earlier this week the news that an executive at EA announced that EA do not have any games in development for the Wii U or any future games planned. Well it looks like EA are now backtracking on this statement.EA spokesperson Jeff Brown’s comments to games site Kotaku on 15 May was: “We have no games in development for the Wii U currently,”

Fast forward a few days and as part of the Stifel Nicolaus 2013 Internet, Media and Communications Conference, EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen stated: “We are building titles for the Nintendo console, but not anywhere near as many as we are for PlayStation or Xbox.”

Well this is good news for both Wii U owners and Nintendo but I can’t say that it’s a ringing endorsement for the 6 month old console ahead of the release of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Wii U’s one year head start by the time the One and PS4 are released later this year is not proving to be an advantage.
