Xbox SmartGlass Arriving This Week

A few months after Nintendo revealed the Wii U pad and its special features which caught the gaming world’s attention, Microsoft’s announced what is called its SmartGlass feature that would bring special additional functionality and user experience to the Xbox 360. That new Xbox SmartGlass update and free app will be released this Friday 26th October and will be available on Windows 8, Widows RT PCs, Windows Phone 8, iOS, and Android devices.

Xbox SmartGlass is an update and app that allows gamers to to interact with thier Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 games with features being able to be controlled or displayed on the tablet. For exable an FPS gamer will be able to see a map of the level on their tablet using SmartGlass or in a driving game you can see your garage collection or change you car settings using your tablet without leaving the main game. With general Xbox 350 entertainment features, SmartGlass can be used as a touch screen remote control or to provide additional information the the LoveFilm or Netflix film the user is watch.
As time goes on I am sure developers will fine unique and creative ways to use SmartGlass in games

Initially the following game will have Xbox SmartGlass integration of varying levels:
Dance Central 3
Forza Horizon
Halo Waypoint
Home Run Stars
Kinect Sesame Street TV
Prima Games.

    As an owner of both an iPad 1 and an iPhone 4S, i’m looking forward to seeing how this enhances gameplay…. specially with Forza Horizon being one of the games on the list that can use it.
