The 39th Annual Saturn Awards — We Will Be There!

saturnawardslogoIn less than one week, Burbank, California will host the site of the 39th Annual Saturn Awards. The Saturn Awards is the official honor that is presented by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films. This is the perfect awards show for the fantastic films and television series’ that are often overlooked by the academies responsible for dishing out the Oscars, Emmy’s, Golden Globe’s, and BAFTA’s.

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror films is made up of individuals passionate about the genres in which this academy represents, and the Saturn Awards is where and how they celebrate. And the best part is that we’ll be there!

Some pretty epic movies have walked away with Saturn Awards in the past including: Back To The Future, Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, X-Men (and X-Men 2), Inception, The Dark Crystal, Shaun of the Dead, Army of Darkness, and all three films in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Actors and actresses such as: James Caan, Jodie Foster, Sigourney Weaver, Harrison Ford, Linda Hamilton, Tom Hanks, and Uma Thurman have also walked away with the golden planet. Natalie Portman, Jeff Bridges, and Robert Downey Jr. are a few who have all won multiple times over the years.

Some of this years film nominees include: The Avengers, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Argo, The Impossible, The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Christoph Waltz, Dame Judi Dench, Peter Jackson, Joss Whedon, and many, many more.

For television, some of the nominees include: Fringe, Supernatural, Dexter, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Spartacus: War of the Damned, Doctor Who, Andrew Lincoln, Michael C Hall, Anna Torv, David Morrissey, Jonathan Banks, Jessica Lange, Terry O’Quinn, Mark Sheppard, and many more.
