In preparation for Comic Con, two new The World’s End featurettes have been released. Go behind the jump to hear some more about the origins of The Cornetto Trilogy, and about the film’s presence at SDCC!

The third film in The Cornetto Trilogy (following Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz), The World’s End is the touching tale of 5 friends attempting to relive their youth and getting way more than they bargained for. Check out the official summary below:

In “The World’s End,” 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite with director Edgar Wright for what’s sure to be a hilarious end to the trilogy. To learn some more about the trilogy and get some behind the scenes chatter, check out the new featurettes below:

The movie will have a heavy presence at Comic Con next week as well, with events on multiple days.

On Thursday, fans can join in on the “Fan Crawl” and have a chance at winning a ticket to the invite-only The World’s End party that evening. Friday morning is the film’s SDCC panel, which will be moderated by Chris Hardwick and feature Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright. In addition, 100 lucky fans will win an invite to an advanced screening of the film on Friday.

Sounds like a couple of action-packed days – surely a sign of things to come!

The World’s End opens in theaters on August 23rd, and also stars Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan and Rosamund Pike.
