Last week the interwebs threw all kinds of wonderful at our screens: the new Black Widow YA novel, Mockingjay Part 2 promo posters and that GoT sketch from Red Nose Day. We have no idea how to rank this week’s list. They’re all equal in amount of awesomeness.
All the products listed this week, I want. All the feminism this week, I love. Everything. Just… Ugh. Here’s this week’s Things We Love Right Now!
New Black Widow YA Novel.
HELLA YEAH. Announced at NYCC, the new young adult novel Black Widow: Forever Red is being written by Margaret Stohl (Beautiful Creatures), who gave a few details about the story in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
Black Widow: Forever Red tells the story of Natasha Romanoff and the two teens who find an unlikely way into her life—particularly Ana Orlova, a seventeen-year-old Russian girl now living in Brooklyn. The novel takes us from New York to Eastern Europe, and we get to see more of Natasha’s backstory than we ever have before.
Much excite? YES. Do we care that it’s aimed at YA? NOPE. Once it’s finished, send it over!
Creepy McCreeperson has no head in new Mockingjay poster.
With the rebellion in full swing in part 1, Mockingjay Part 2 is the climax of the loved Hunger Games series. But like I needed to tell you that. Here’s the first image from the franchise promoting the film which is released Nov… Looks like Snow is in trouble in this film. YAY. Of course I’ve read the books, but I’m still super excited to see how it’s going to be adapted for film. I had some reservations about part 1, but they did good with that, so hopefully they’ll carry on with not having the thing that happened in the book happen in part 2. Make sense? No spoilers in that explanation? Good.
Insane and Glorious Wonder Woman PS4 Skin.
I don’t not own a PS4, nor a PS3. I’ve stuck with my trusty PS2. I can play Tomb Raider, Lego Indiana Jones, play the original Crash Bandicoot and all the Spyros. But after seeing this WW PS4 skin, I want a PS4. Just so I can have DC Bombshell Wonder Woman stamped across it. IT’S SO PURDY.
Superhero Figurine Shoot.
You remembered when we covered that adorable Stormtrooper figurine photoshoot? Well here’s an equally amazing superhero shoot from photographer Hrjoe. DC, Marvel… The work this guys produces is hilarious. You can like him on Facebook, or if you want more funnys then head over to Instagram, where you can see Iron Man attempting to build his stand and Capt. America getting to grips with selfies.
Red Nose Day Does GAME OF THRONES MUSICAL.
Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Coldplay teamed up with some of the cast (most of them) to write some wonderful and amazing songs. Tyrion singing about not having been killed off yet, Emilia Clarke hating everything about it, then performing ‘Rastafarian Targaryen’, and one of the best one liners ever: “…it was the first romantic ballad about incest in Coldplay’s career.” Plus it’s all narrated by Liam Neeson. 12 minutes of gloriousness. We want a full length musical please, George R.R Martin. Get on it.
Ruffalo Wrote an Essay on Feminism.
YES. Mark Ruffalo gave his response to the “I am not a feminist” internet craze. He passionately wrote a tumblr post, telling everyone who backed the campaign how they were insulting every woman in history who has suffered during the past 200 years, in the fight to get women the rights that we have today. To which we say YES. And it’s not one of those “down with men!” kinds of things. It’s a struggle to get equal rights. That’s all. Then the Hulk finished his speech with “In short, kiss my ass, you ignorant little jerks.”
GO TEAM HULKRUFFALO.
James Gunn and the First Draft of GOTG2 Script.
Then Chris Pratt read it and it made him cry. N’aww.
While we’re on the subject of Pratt, Sneaky Zebra just made a thing. It’s awesome. Go check it out.
That’s all for this week, folks! Tell us what your favourite internet moment from the week was in the comments below!
