New to GS, we take a look back at the best things to happen on the internet over the past week! We can’t be held responsible if your brain melts from all the awesome. Sorry.
Marvel’s press tour
Aside from the colossal cock-up last week (why, Renner and Evans, WHY?), you can’t really fault Marvel’s press tour. They go the extra mile. Break away from doing interviews alone. When a video of Renner singing a parody of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud on The Tonight Show popped up on my timeline, I couldn’t click the link fast enough. I wasn’t disappointed. Renner at a piano, dressed in full Hawkeye costume, with his bow and arrows sitting on a bed over roses on top of the piano. Just watch, ok?
Also, sassy Black Widow is so over being the ‘girl’ of the team.
New Her Universe Marvel collection
Remember the Geek Couture fashion show that Her Universe held at SDCC last year? Remember that there were two lucky winners who’d get to design a collection with Ashleigh Eckstein, in collaboration with Marvel and Hot Topic? Well, the new line has been launched with 6 new AMAZING designs going on sale mid May and available for pre-order now. The collection as a whole is really really well done: it’s not just a logo on a piece of clothing. Also online are a few videos showing the making of the new line, along with mini interviews with the designers.
That Stark Industries bomber jacket: it’s perfect. *drool*
Jared Leto’s Joker
Because the Internet can’t make up its mind as to whether it’s good or bad. Even though that’s what happened when we first saw Heath Ledger’s Joker. Calm down guys, Leto’s probs gonna be awesome.
What geek doesn’t love nerdy tees? I know there are a lot of companies out there who fill our wardrobes with amazing tees, but let me introduce you to another: Influx Clothing. Still a fairly small company, their designs minimalistic but still pack a punch. We’ve added a few for you to take a look at…
All their shirts are printed using dye sublimation (allows the fabric to absorb the ink directly), which means no plasticy look, no loss of colour or a crumbly, flakey design. What more could you want? Influx Clothing’s designs are simple, yet eye catchy and not your generic nerd shirts. For £20, you get a quirky design that’ll last a while. Check out the entire range and look out for competitions on their Facebook page!
Kristen Wiig as Daenerys Targaryen
The Tonight show did it again: they had yet another awesome guest. Kristen Wiig was on promoting her new film, Welcome to me, when she appeared as Khaleesi and the the best skit with Jimmy Fallon. Feast your eye-holes on this:
The Avengers: Age of Ultron
I mean, right?! It’s incredible. The ‘what?’ half way through? And the thing that happens before the credits instead of after the credits? ARGH. Go watch if you haven’t already.
So that’s the end of your first weekly internet round up for you! Let us know your highlights of the week in the comments below!
