‘Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat’ A Novel with a Some Interesting Sales Ideas

Cut to Melbourne, Australia–the most glamorous city in the world. It also happens to be the only one left standing, but nevermind that, we’re there now and I’d like you to meet your narrator, a certain Floyd Maquina, a likable chap with one hell of a story to share. See, the powers that be are knuckling down on the Deviant menace that plagues the city, and our boy Floyd’s unknowingly got himself in the thick of it. Cue guns, intrigue, kidnappings, conspiracy and all sorts of general mayhem that make for cracking good headlines.

Does Floyd stop the bad guys? Does he get the girl? Does he make Humphrey Bogart proud? Grab some popcorn and read on.

Any novel which has been described as ‘A Third Man/Matrix/Blade Runner/Dashiell Hammett’ mash up by one reviewer is a hard claim to ignore. It also helps that the title Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat is a pretty cool one. The other interesting thing about Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat’  are some of sales ideas around the novel’s publisher Another Sky. The publisher, it seems, are so confident in the strength of their titles that they have a try before you buy option on their digital downloads. They allow the reader the option of either contributing before or after reading the digital version of just buying the printed edition. It’s a bold move I would be interested in knowing how well this scheme has worked for them.

That’s why we provide digital versions of our releases for an optional contribution. You can contribute up front, or read the entire book before coming back to contribute or buy a bound copy. We strongly believe in the quality of our releases, and think you will too. The contribution is entirely optional, and 100% of contributions are distributed as royalties to those directly involved in making this book happen. So enjoy… and remember – your contributions are how our authors and artists get paid. – Another Sky
