TRAILER: Indiana Jones – The Complete Adventures

The man in the hat comes to Blu-Ray and his trailer is coming with him.

Considering that the BBC aired ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ over the weekend (and uncut…nice job beeb!) I figured it was only fitting to post the trailer for my must have Blu-Ray release for 2012 ( well for me anyway). I refer to theIndiana Jones – The Complete Adventures on Blu-Ray featuring Raiders of the Lost Ark (no I’m not going to use that silly title that lucasfilm now use), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The collection is released in the UK on 8th October and something tells me I may be booking that day off work and buying a shed load of popcorn. On Amazon there is a listing for a limited edition box set…fingers crossed it comes in either a packing crate or miniature Ark of the Covenant. In case you hadn’t guessed I’m just a little bit excited here…to say the Indiana Jones films are my fave films of all time may be a slight understatement. I think I need to just show you the trailer before my head explodes, Belloq style (seriously BBC you showed that scene at 7:50pm wow!).

And to any of you few who have never seen these films before and will be picking them up and watching them for the first time in the words of Jean Luc Picard…”Oh I envy you. You’re right at the beginning of the adventure”.

Check out what you can expect on the Blu -ray

Supervised by director Steven Spielberg and renowned sound designer Ben Burtt, Raiders of the Lost Ark has been meticulously restored with careful attention to preserving the original look, sound and feel of the iconic film. The original negative was first scanned at 4K and then examined frame-by-frame so that any damage could be repaired.

The sound design was similarly preserved using Burtt’s original master mix, which had been archived and unused since 1981. New stereo surrounds were created using the original music tracks and original effects recorded in stereo but used previously only in mono. In addition, the sub bass was redone entirely up to modern specifications and care was taken to improve dialogue and correct small technical flaws to create the most complete and highest quality version of the sound possible while retaining the director’s vision. The result is an impeccable digital restoration that celebrates the film and its place in cinematic history.

Alongside this, for the first time ever on Blu-ray, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is presented in its uncut format, 28 years after it was first released in cinemas. The original release was cut in 1984 in the UK to obtain a PG rating, however fans can now witness all the gory cut extras in all their glory.

The installments in the franchise have won a combined seven Academy Awards®. Relive every heart-pounding thrill like never before as all four films arrive together, for the first time presented in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio accompanied by a collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes
