True Blood: The Complete Fifth Season – Out on Blu-Ray and DVD 20th May 2013

True_Blood_Season_5_DVD_CoverDoes Season 6 seem too far away? Fear not fellow Fang-Bangers you only have to wait until 20th May and then you can get your fix with the release of the whole of the brilliant Season 5 of True Blood.

The offical blurb is:

Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humour, True Blood Season 5 goes deep into the battle between the “Vampire Authority” and “Vampire Fundamentalists” – a political power play whose outcome could decide not only the fate of Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her Bon Temps friends, but of all human existence.

Picking up where Season 4 left off, Sookie is dealing with Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) shooting and her unpredictable faerie powers while Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) find themselves called into action by the Vampire Authority. Meanwhile, Sam (Sam Tremmell) searches for shifter killers and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) struggles with his attraction to Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll).

In Season 5, the hit HBO series presents a whole new wave of otherworldly characters, including Vampire Guardian Roman (Emmy® nominee Christopher Meloni) who seeks human-vampire co-existence; vampire zealot Salome (Valentina Cervi) who is intent on recreating the world in God’s vampyric image; Authority Chancellor Nora (Lucy Griffiths) who shares the same maker as Sookie’s suitor Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) and Werewolves J.D. and Martha who want a reluctant Alcide (Joe Manganiello) to take his rightful place as packmaster.

The latest season of True Blood culminates in a wicked and bloody climax that will affect the lives of everyone living and dead in this unrelenting, action-packed season of HBO’s otherworldly phenomenon. Packed with extra content, the DVD and Blu-ray editions of The Complete Fifth Season include commentary on Inside The Episodes and featurettes on True Bloodlines and True Blood; Autopsy.

True Blood is the spell-bindingly addictive TV series from Emmy® and Oscar® winning creator Alan Ball (Six Feet Under), drawn from the meticulously crafted world of novelist Charlaine Harris. The latest season also includes co-star Stephen Moyer’s directorial debut with episode ‘Somebody that I used to Know’. True Blood caused a sensation from the first episode of Season One and the latest instalments only build on the colourful life of the supernatural eccentrics.
