Voices of the Syndicate: Thoughts on Thor: Dark World Trailer 2

TDW UK PayoffThis week saw the release of the second trailer for Thor: The Dark World, the latest addition to the Marvel phase two  slate of films.

The guys and gals at GS huddled by the gates of Asgard and give their first impressions on the trailer.

In case you’ve not seen it yet check out the trailer below then have a read of our thoughts.

Nuge – Well I must admit that while I did enjoy the first Thor film I’m really looking forward to this second film. From the looks of this second trailer (which per usual showed a little too much) it looks like we will see much more Asgard based action and from the Asgardians themselves which suits me fine. I know we have to have some earth based stuff but personally I could quite happily take a whole film set in Asgard.

James – Bring it on!!!!
 That is all

Ian – I’m looking forward to this and I think the story looks interesting. But as a trailer I found it same old same old. Some exposition, some action, a meaningful bit and a funny bit. The trailer doesn’t make me want to see the film, but the characters and story potential do. I’ve stopped watching trailers because they don’t tease and tantalise the way they should.

Casey – I love the angle of having to work with Loki. That’s such a bad idea on so many levels, it intrigues me to see how that will turn out.

I also love that some of the scenes are set in London, that will be a nice change of pace from the more rural setting the first Thor movie.
It looks like it will be a nice popcorn movie, if nothing else.

Vichus – What I took from the new Thor trailer that was absent from the first is that women have a greater role than they did in the first film. We knew that Sif would be cracking some skulls, but Jane Foster shows Loki that she’s not too happy about Loki’s invasion in The Avengers. Then we have Thor’s mom (Mrs. Odin…son?) mixing it up, too!

I guess Asgard and Midgad saw the bar set by Black Widow and decided to raise it.

Dee – My first thoughts about the new trailer went thus:
“Yay. More Loki.”

“Jane (Natalie Portman) is not going to survive as she is the only puny human amongst all the Mighty Asgardians.”
“Idris Elba. YAY”

“This looks quite quite loud and silly, but probably watchable.”

Phil – I’m thinking “Wow thank god, the trailer has saved me spending £9 for a ticket and £10 for other bits when it comes out as obviously all the best bits/probable end action shot is in the trailer.  ”

Matt – Gotta say my initial thought was “more of the same” – but it’s a good same so I’m totally onboard with it. I’m a big fan of the Marvel films and they’ve not let me down yet.

Luke – My thoughts on Thor 2 is that it looks amazing! Thor is one of my favourite characters and his first two film outings have not disappointed.

Looking forward to speaking like an Asgardian for the next couple of months.

Silverfox – After the first trailer, I know some were a bit fearful that it looked a little cheaper than the original, but personally I loved it that so much of it was clearly filmed in the UK. This trailer puts more ‘meat on the bone’, and I’m only more hopeful for a better film – I think it will be thor-oughly brilliant and Christopher Ecclestone will give us more than a low-key villain… 🙂

Sara – My thought are as follows

LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI LOKI!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! *can’t catch breath, falls over, dies from excitement*
