We Have a Situation!

We were all skeptical when announcements began to surface that Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of Jersey Short fame would be the star of his very own comic book, though from the looks of this image it is safe to assume that this project will soon become reality. August 2012 in fact. From the 9-12th to be even more specific, just in time for Chicago Comic Con.

The comic book release is set to coincide with Sorrentino’s first appearance in this summer’s line-up of Wizard World’s North American Conventions. The Jersey Shore vet will be appearing as the show’s Media Guest of Honor, along with his entire family, as part of the deal struck with Wizard World and MPS Entertainment.

Signed onto the project are some of the industries finest talents, Eisner Award winning writer Paul Jenkins (Wolverine: Origins, Batman, Hulk, Spider-Man), pencil and inks by Talent Caldwell (Superman, X-Men, G.I. Joe), and coloring by Paul Mounts (Avengers, Ultimate X-Men, Wolverine, and Thor). On the team, Wizard World CEO, John Macaluso had this to say: “This team we’ve assembled is our commitment to put out a comic book of the highest quality that will have a compelling story and amazing art.”

There’s no doubt that this team of heavy hitters will deliver superb work, with covers (pictured above) by Greg Horn who’s not going to want to pick this up? Though as far as “compelling story” is concerned we’re going to trust that Jenkins will deliver some great adventures about our uber-tanned protagonist. No details on actual story lines have been released but a quick glance at the portfolio of any Jersey Shore alum might provide further insight. Hot Women? Definitely. Drinking? Possibly. GTL? GTFO!

Will you be picking up this comic book in August?
