‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Adds Aussie Soap Star Josh Helman

Yet another Aussie soap star joins the big tme!

Josh Helman has joined the cast of Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past,”. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” blends original “X-Men” stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry along with “First Class” actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. The sequel has also added Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult (also to be seen with Helman in Mad Max: Fury Road), Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing and Evan Peters as Quicksilver.

Helman’s role is being kept under wraps, but it may prove significant given that the actor is expected on set for several weeks.

Like almost every Australian actor (Guy Pearce, Russell Crowe etc) who has made the transition to American studio movies, Helman started out on a long-running Aussie soap opera “Home and Away.” He gained attention after minor roles which led to a supporting role opposite Tom Cruise in “Jack Reacher”, and will soon be seen alongside Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in Warner Bros’ “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” opens in cinemas May 23, 2014
